    No way! Really? That’s great.

Even easier with metric, when will the USA adopt the international standard?

    • Steve Lindhurst

That’s just more euro-garbage.  We have gotten along just fine without the metric system.  Why is it that some folks always think that the grass is greener on the other side?  I like my British Standard/USA/SAE and American green grass just fine thank you.

In no time at all the UK took it on and most of us can work with both systems! you can’t fight the World forever!

        • Steve Lindhurst

Peter, I can an do work with both systems.  That is only because they keep trying to ram it down my throat.  It is widely understood that the metric system is “more accurate” than the “traditional” system.  It is not.  I have yet to see a measuring device (tape measure, ruler etc.), that can measure anything smaller than a millimeter without some electronic means, whereas I can read down to 1/64″.  And before you say that nobody does that, well, some do.  I for one, working with wood, sometimes have to work to very close tolerances, depending on the work.  I do not use any type of digital or even dial caliper.  I do, however, use a vernier caliper on ocasion.  Mine is not now, nor will it ever be, metric.  Why must the United States bend to the will of foreigners?  Why as a world leader, still, so far, should we be the one to change a system that has worked for hundreds of years or even longer just to satisfy some misguided world unity concept?  Next you will want to convert to Euros as opposed to Dollars.  Are you familiar with the story of The Tower of Babel in The Old Testament of the Bible?  It’s in Genesis, chapter 11.  A good read, and a good lesson.
